A sheet of pressure-treated plywood, hinges, a hasp, an afternoon. The honest price also includes doing it again in 5–10 years, repainting along the way, and — if your opening is out of square, which most are — air and moisture leaking from day one.

Real products with a real catch: they fit standard, square openings, and they arrive expecting you to measure perfectly, install correctly, and seal thoroughly. The measurement is where these go wrong, and there's no one to call when it does.
